"The Best of Tactical Gaming" article & INF 2.9 Community Edition
Posted by: beppo on Monday, September 04, 2006
Finally our page is back up and running again. Sorry for any inconvenience the maintenance may have caused.

But, back to the news!
During our maintenance phase dslyecxi, the author of the "Tactical Gaming Done Right" article that was featured in the PC Gamer UK Jul/August issue, released a simply fantastic followup article named "The Best of Tactical Gaming: Infiltration" featuring - you guessed it - the current Infiltration; how it looks and feels combined with todays available community mutators.

The article describes a lot of features that were added by community packages in addition to the standard INF 2.9 features that some people may have never noticed or encountered during their first steps thru the world of Infiltration.
It even describes a lot of new features that were recently added.

Another top news item is that the Community Edition of Infiltration is getting ready to be released. Thanks to Crowze, this new installer will combine many of the community additions released throughout the last few years and the official 2.9 bonus pack into one download.
No need to search the forums and community pages to grab mutator after mutator and map after map. This package will have it all - 'soon'.

Now, check out the great article over at, spread the word and maybe visit our forums to actually get your hands on some of the cool additions described in the article.
With the upcomming Community Edition this will even get easier.

Bad News
Posted by: erehwoN on Sunday, October 02, 2005
It is with a heavy heart that I inform everyone Sentry Studio's project on the Source engine has been cancelled. This decision was not reached lightly, but the simple fact is due to a cumulative lack of free time and various other factors present from within the team, work on Half Life 2 has ground to a halt. This may not come as a surprise to some people, but we are sorry for the disappointment. This does not mean Sentry Studios is disbanding, but do not expect any release "soon." We will keep an eye on engines in the future to see if something comes along that piques the collective interest of the team enough to begin development of another project. We would also like to take this chance to thank all of our fans for their tremendous support given to us over the years. For that, we are eternally grateful. It has been a great ride, but hopefully this will not be the end. We will all just have to wait and see what the future holds.

HL2 Progress
Posted by: erehwoN on Sunday, June 19, 2005
Even though things seem somewhat quiet around here, progress has been made on our next project. Current features include free aim, vectorized aiming, leaning, and a unique gametype. What is vectorized aiming you ask? Instead of a simple cone fire that many games employ, the player's movements visibly affect their weapon, which always shoots exactly where it is pointed. We are also experimenting with ways to rest weapons upon objects, in a manner other games do not. The leaning has been implemented so you have full posture control, allowing the player to not only lean left and right but up and down as well. The gametype is similar to the popular Infiltration gametype, DTAS, but with multiple spawns. It is a dynamic capture the flag variant in which the object's position changes from round to round and is placed by a player. This gametype also features a scoring system that punishes teams for allowing their players to die. Spawning places you near teammates, and away from enemies to create a dynamic front line of action.

In other news, another Infiltration 2.9 get-together has been planned for Saturday June 25th. More information can be found here.

Neighborhood get together
Posted by: erehwoN on Wednesday, May 18, 2005
For good ol' times sake, the Infiltration Team and Beta Testers have decided to schedule a playing session this weekend. The date is set for this Saturday, the 21st of May beginning around 21:00 CET (3 PM New York time). Many of the official 2.9 maps, as well as maps from the Desert Storm pack, will be in the rotation. Play will start on the {GD} server, but will hopefully spill over to others as well. This will undoubtedly be a good time, so stop by for at least a little while if you can. We hope to see you there!
